There are so many great reasons to want to get fit and stay fit sustainably, but a job role is rarely one of them. However, being a physically fit police officer is essential if you’re going to perform optimally within your position. Catching criminals and taking on the other aspects of the job can be tough, but physical fitness can help in terms of strength, speed, endurance, and even mindset.

However, with strange shift patterns and the demanding nature of the job, it can be extremely tough to find the time to work out and work towards your fitness goals. You are likely used to an inconsistent shift pattern and lifestyle, so how are you supposed to remain consistent with your fitness and workouts? Online coaching for police officers can be beneficial if this is something you’re pondering.

There are numerous benefits of online training that police officers can enjoy - let’s take a look at them below.

#1. Online Training Works Well Around Shift Work

The great thing about online training is that it's flexible, you don't need to commit to exercising at fixed times. You can efficiently schedule your workout sessions at a time that suits you, whatever shift pattern you may be on.

This is one of the biggest obstacles of police fitness - being able to fit training sessions around shift work. However, online training could be the answer.

#2. Budget Friendly

Personal trainers can be a great way to boost your fitness and motivation, but you could end up losing money if you need to cancel at short notice. Having to book in a training session in advance, then having to do overtime and not being able to make the session could leave you out of pocket. There’s no need to worry about this with online training especially for police officers.

#3. More Consistency in Your Inconsistent Lifestyle

Living an inconsistent lifestyle can be exciting, but it can also feel unstable at times. It can stress you out as you wonder when you are ever going to be able to put your own physical health first, rather than the problematic aspects of the job.

Online training gives you a tool to preserve some consistency in an inconsistent lifestyle. You might not fully know what tomorrow holds, but at least you can be prepared for whatever comes your way with regular training at your own pace.

#4. Flexibility to Train Anywhere

Flexibility doesn’t' only apply to your schedule, but with online training, you’ll have the flexibility of training anywhere. The workouts can be designed based on the environment you have access to for training, but you can also receive alternative exercises that don't need any specific equipment, thus can be performed a home, in a hotel room or outdoors. Online personal training can actually be more effective than having a physical PT for this reason!

#5. Accountability

Many people convince themselves that they will be able to keep themselves accountable, only to realise that they just can't manage the same consistency as when they have a trainer. The added accountability with having an online personal trainer cannot be beaten. You’ll be far more motivated and find it so much easier to stick to a new, consistent routine even with everything else going on in your life.

When you have somebody else to hold you accountable for your fitness goals, great things can happen!

#6. Affordability

Not only will you not lose money as missed booked training sessions become a thing of the past, but you will also notice that online training for police officers is an affordable fitness expense. In person, 1-2-1 workout sessions with trainers can cost a lot more than you’d like, which is why many people don’t manage to have them all that often.

However, online fitness training is far more affordable, meaning you will be able to keep up with the expense in the long run.
